My cleanse is over....now what?

I email/Facebook with several of our patients, it's a way for me to give them the extra time and answers that they need, and I can't always do it in the office.  This was a response I sent to one that was upset with herself over not following all of the "rules."  I don't know if you can use it, but she said it really helped her.  Please feel free to comment on this with your own personal experiences…

Dear ...........'

What I've learned from all of my goes with different "popular diets” is that it's a learning process and we are all different.  What works for some does not work for others; so I am letting go of all of the expectations and rules and starting fresh.

My body likes variety and a little of all of the food groups.  After I do the cleanse I want to transition into clean eating: mostly veggies, lean protein and healthy fats.  If I "need" a little of my favorites, I'll have some quinoa, black beans lentils or maybe some cheese.  Most importantly, it has to be whole food.

Think about how you've felt on different eating plans.  Which one did you feel best on?  Which was easiest for you to stick with?  I'm learning too, we both are, but when you're stressing yourself out so much worrying about what you can and cannot eat.....you're doing more harm than good.  Food is glorious, and we should enjoy it and feel good about it.  Don't get me wrong: I'm not happy about the 10 lbs I've gained recently, but I know why I did and I am going to work my butt off to lose it and then some.

We didn't get to where we are overnight and we aren't going to get to where we want to be overnight either.  It's a journey and we're on it together!!!

Hang in there!!!

Introduction to the Cleanse

Do you feel tired no matter how much sleep you get? Have frequent headaches? Sluggish bodily functions? Etc..... Chances are you're toxic.

Say hello to the Isagenix 9 day Cleanse System. The cleanse consists of 3 parts: Cleanse days, shake days and believe it or not, your brain. Let's start with the most important aspect of the cleanse, your brain!!!

What's the 1st thing that pops into your head when you hear the word “cleanse?” For me, it was starvation, that was my biggest mistake. I set myself up for failure from the get go. Assuming I was going to starve (which you don't and won't) I didn't have the right attitude to succeed and therefore I didn't. So with round 2 of the cleanse I had to mentally prepare myself for the task ahead. I focused on my goals: to feel better and lose fat. Once I changed my way of thinking it was a piece of cake. (not literally, LOL)

The cleanse can either last 9 days or 11, that depends on you. If you've never done one before, I highly recommend doing the extended version, which consists of: 2 pre-cleanse days, 2 Cleanse days, 5 shake days and 2 final cleanse days. The pre-cleanse helps the transition into the cleanse days.

When you start, weigh yourself and take all of your measurements, that's super important. Even if the weight loss stalls, the inch loss doesn't. And losing the fat is what's important here.

So, what do you think? Are you ready for a change, ready to feel better than you have in years?

Stay tuned for my personal experience and success with the Isagenix 9 Day Cleanse System.
